Veritype Terms of Service

Last updated: August 24, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Veritype Chrome extension and website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

What Veritype does

Veritype analyzes text you choose to submit — a selection or a whole page — using an AI model, to identify potential ideological bias and generate counterarguments. The analysis is generated by an AI system and reflects patterns in the text, not a verified fact-check or an authoritative judgment. Always use your own judgment alongside Veritype's output.

Accounts

You need an account to use Veritype, even on the free tier. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Veritype.

Plans, billing, and cancellation

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Content you submit

You're responsible for the text you choose to submit for analysis. Don't submit content you don't have the right to share, or content containing others' sensitive personal information. See our Privacy Policy for how submitted text is handled — in short, it's never stored tied to your identity.

No professional advice

Veritype's bias analysis and counterarguments are informational and generated by AI. They are not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice, and shouldn't be treated as a definitive or unbiased source of truth on their own.

Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veritype and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Changes to the Service or these terms

We may update these terms or change, add, or remove features over time (including usage caps and pricing, as described on the Pricing page). If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
